about Prelude Concerts
PRELUDE CONCERTS ist eine neue Berliner Konzertreihe für jung und alt, ein Ensemble und ein gemeinnütziger gleichermaßen, mit dem Ziel klassische Kammermusik, Jazz und andere Musikrichtungen aufzuführen und gleichzeitig junge musikalische Talente zu fördern.
Das monatlich stattfindende Projekt beinhaltet ein KAMMERKONZERT am Samstag abend, bei dem international renommierte Künstler zu Gast sind und gemeinsam mit dem Prelude Ensemble und einem jungen talentierten Stipendiaten das Programm gestalten.
Zusätzlich gibt es zwei KONZERTE für KINDER am Sonntag vormittag : PRELUDE PLAYGROUND. Ein jüngeres Publikum wird dazu animiert, sich klassischer Musik spielerisch zu nähern und sich mit dem jeweiligen Thema interaktiv auf ein musikalisches Abenteuer einzulassen.
Im Anschluss daran gibt es eine „OPEN STAGE“ - eine Plattform für Musiker allen Alters die ihr Können präsentieren möchten.

Prelude Concerts is a new Berlin based concert series, ensemble and a non profit organization with the goal to perform classical chamber music, jazz and other musical styles and at the same time to promote young developing musical talents
The project includes a monthly Evening concert where internationally renowned guest artists perform along side the Prelude Concerts ensemble. In addition two concerts for children take place during the Prelude Playground.
A younger audience is invited to listen, play and think through an interactive musical adventure. Each concert features a young talented artist “in residence” alongside the ensemble players.
This project is made possible through the cooperation with the Amt für Weiterbildung und Kultur - Museum Pankow.
All Concerts take place at
the Museum Pankow Aula des Kultur - Bildungszentrum Sebastian Haffner.

How it all began..
A personal note from Hila Karni
My daughter, Lir Vaginsky, herself a talented violinist came to me when she was about 10 years old and asked if she could also perform in one of my chamber music concerts. she asked repeatedly..
It occurred to me that I didn't know any venues in Berlin that offer this opportunity to young musicians. I decided to start promoting the idea of creating such a concert series.
Strolling through my Neighbourhood, Prenzlauer Berg, I stumbled across the Pankow Museum and had the great luck to Meet its Director Berndt Roder whose support of our project made it at all possible.
After months of planning we have a result:
A new concert series and an ensemble of wonderful artists who perform along side extremely talented young musicians. Through the mutual work, sometimes only on a single movement, comes incredible learning, experience and joy on all sides.
Lir loves this result.
